Buchanan DAR, the smallest and one of the oldest public transit systems in the State, celebrated our partnership with the Buchanan Area Chamber of Commerce at a ribbon-cutting ceremony held on July 21 near historic Pears Mill. Since 2008, we have had a position on our Local Advisory Council reserved for a representative of the BACC, and I believe that we are the only public transit system in Southwest Michigan to have done so. BACC Executive Director Randy Hendrixson, appointed in 2013, has been an enthusiastic supporter of DAR's efforts to "spread the good word" throughout our community and emphasize that DAR is for EVERYONE. We look forward to a successful and mutually beneficial relationship between DAR and the BACC for years to come!
