Clinton Transit’s drivers stand ready to provide residents with curb-to-curb transportation to the many small, locally owned businesses throughout St. Johns, DeWitt and Bath. Holiday shoppers wishing to avoid the hassle of parking, snowy road conditions, or long windy walks can rely on the agency’s iconic Blue Buses for a safe and reliable ride to any address in Clinton County.“Our area has a fantastic collection of shops, boutiques, cafes, diners, pubs and more for shoppers to enjoy this season,” says MaLissa Schutt, Clinton Transit’s Executive Director. “There are so many great reasons to shop small and support businesses owned and run by people right here in the community. The Blue Buses make it so much easier. Shoppers can leave their vehicles at home and enjoy a stress-free lift to their local favorites.”Providing more than a ride, Clinton Transit drives economic vitality in the region. For local businesses, improved access to transportation means better access to talent and customers alike. “Mobility leads to connectivity,” says Schutt. “Whether you’re shopping local on Small Business Saturday, heading to the St. Johns Light Festival, or running in the Downtown DeWitt Turkey Trot, the Blue Bus is a great option to get there.”New riders will need to register in advance of their first ride at www.mybluebus.com/sign-up or by calling the dispatch office at 989.224.8127, Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. or Saturday from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. It may take up to one business day for new accounts to be reviewed and processed. Once registered, riders can simply schedule their rides on the Clinton Transit mobile app or by calling the dispatch office. Clinton Transit’s standard transportation hours are from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Friday and 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturdays.For mobility needs beyond published hours and locations, residents are encouraged to call Clinton Transit. “We want the community to know that if they need to get somewhere, we can often meet their needs directly or by coordinating on their behalf with other transportation providers,” says Schutt.Established in 2001, Clinton Transit has been providing curb-to-curb service to meet the needs of all Clinton County residents. Fondly known as the Blue Bus, the on-demand transit system responds to ride requests and provides safe, reliable transportation to all county residents.
